Claire and Jake got married at Three Blue Ducks in Rosebery, a converted industrial warehouse with the coolest rustic vibe and the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding.
When I first met these two over a coffee in Surry Hills and we talked about their wedding day, Claire and Jake told me that the most important thing for them was to spend the day celebrating and to spend as much time as possible with their nearest and dearest. And so we decided to take the bulk of the bridal photos before the ceremony, to allow as much time for fun afterwards.
I started the day with Claire getting ready before we made our way to Three Blue Ducks where Jake was waiting to see Claire for the first time in her wedding dress. Claire and Jake decided to do a ‘first look’ before the ceremony – something I love to shoot because of the genuine reactions and moments this brings out.
I loved how everything was so easy and relaxed and how these two made the day exactly how they wanted it – this is what I tell couples all the time – there isn’t a thing you ‘have to’ do just because it’s a wedding – you should do exactly what feels right to you as a couple.
Claire wore a stunning dress by designer Sarah Seven, and her veil was handmade by her mum (incredible to say the least!). I loved Jake’s blue blazer, it was such a perfect choice for the venue and the industrial surroundings.
Clair and Jake, what a wonderful day I had with you guys. I loved how you were both so chilled out and how you made the day your own. Thank you for having me create these memories for you, I had an absolutely amazing day with you two. x
