So much beauty and love all wrapped up in one day, I can’t even begin to put into words how much it meant to me to document Kayla and James’ wedding day.
I met Kayla when I moved to Sydney a few of years ago. Kayla styled a couple of shoots I worked on and ever since she and James got engaged, I had been counting down to the big day.
I flew in to Melbourne the day before the wedding and spent that night with Kayla and James’ families. We headed out to dinner in St Kilda and it was so nice to be part of the family that night and to see the anticipation building for the wedding.
Kayla and James tied the knot at The Willows, a beautiful and intimate space in St Kilda. The ceremony was very touching, with Kayla’s grandfather Max officiating. He looked so proud to be standing up there with Kayla and James.
Following the ceremony we spent time exploring St Kilda Botanical Gardens, the green surroundings with tall palm trees and a tropical greenhouse a perfect backdrop for these two. There was a beautiful energy throughout the day, I can still feel it when I look back over the photos.
The reception was held at the George Ballroom, a venue that is out of this world. Table centrepieces were created by the talented Prunella adding a romantic touch to the space. Hearing the speeches was my highlight of the night but the dance floor action came in a close second, guests dancing until the end of the evening and James pulling some awesome dance moves!
Kayla and James, I cannot thank you enough for trusting me to document this amazing day for you. Everything was so perfect and so beautiful. Thank you for making me part of the family that day and for looking after me so well. I know you will treasure these memories for many years to come. x
