“Sonja did an amazing job from start to finish, from when we met her the first time to when my wife and I tied the knot on our big day. Her professionalism, calm and humorous demeanour, and genuineness, made the entire experience really special. We couldn’t endorse Sonja enough, the final album was outstanding; we even shared the album with our guests and they loved it!”

Ah, Bendooley Estate. This place is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Southern Highlands. When I first started shooting weddings I had a little list of venues I wanted to shoot at and Bendooley was number one on that list. As luck would have it, I got to shoot at Bendooley in my first year as a full time wedding photographer – an experience I won’t forget for a long time because I was so excited about it haha. Even though I know Bendooley quite well now, there is always something different to take my breath away. If you get married here in spring or summer you will get a venue that has this old English country estate feel, all lush and green. And if you decide to get married at Bendooley in autumn and early winter you will get a burst of colour all around, lots of oranges and reds, especially at the front of the homestead where the vines turn a crimson red each autumn.
So you can imagine my excitement when Jess and Mark told me they chose Bendooley for their wedding day. They held their ceremony on the grass under a big pine tree, with the lake and the hills in the background. For the wedding party photos we made good use of the homestead and the lush green vines – I loved this wedding party, they were so much fun and so easy going and it was such a dream to work with them all. The reception was held in the famous Book Barn which has so much character – something I think makes for a wonderful experience for guests. As the sun started setting I sneaked outside with just Jess and Mark and we walked into the vineyards to get the last of the golden light. The atmosphere was surreal as the setting sun was shrouded in bushfire smoke – it made for some very moody photos.
Jess and Mark, what can I say. You made this day so special and I absolutely loved how easy you two were to work with and go along with me to explore the beautiful Bendooley grounds. Thank you for welcoming me and making me feel part of the crew. I couldn’t have asked for nicer people to spend the day with, I honestly loved every single moment and will always think back to your wedding day with a huge smile on my face. x
