Maddie and Osgar’s autumn wedding in the Southern Highlands was truly magical. They had originally planned a garden wedding in the Bendooley rose garden but rain fell throughout the day meaning plans had to change. The ceremony was moved to the Bendooley Lakeside Pavilion, creating an intimate setting overlooking the water. I really loved the Lakeside Pavilion, it was intimate yet with the views over the lake gave the photos a soft, atmospheric quality.
Before dinner, guests gathered in the Bendooley restaurant for canapés, warmed by the hanging iron fireplace, before moving into the Book Barn for the reception. The timber interiors and the crackling fireplace made for a particularly beautiful atmosphere as the evening unfolded.
Maddie had told me she loved dramatic black and white photography alongside candid, fun images, and those two elements naturally came together throughout the day - from the quieter moments between the two of them to the warmth and energy of the celebration. This wedding took place in 2024 and yet every time I look at the images I am immediately transported to the moody atmosphere of the Southern Highlands and the always magical Bendooley Estate.
