A masterclass in architectural contrast, Jessica and Raymond’s summer celebration flowed seamlessly from the heritage lawns of Lindesay House to the grand romance of The Grounds of Eveleigh ballroom.

Captured completely without forced posing, every frame celebrates honest connection, striking geometry, and the effortless energy of a classic Sydney summer day.

A summer wedding ceremony at Lindesay House with a romantic reception at The Grounds of Eveleigh

There is something incredibly special about a Sydney summer wedding that isn’t hurried or forced. For Jessica and Raymond, the day unfolded across two of the Sydney’s most architecturally striking yet beautifully contrasting spaces.

The ceremony was held at the historic Lindesay House, nestled overlooking the harbour with manicured parterre gardens and 1830s Gothic Revival sandstone. My focus here was entirely documentary. Lindesay House and the gardens are incredibly beautiful, there is plenty of natural coastal light and the gardens give a sense of quietness and intimacy. Lindesay House only allows a select few weddings each year and it was incredibly special to photograph here.

As the sun began to dip, the celebration shifted gears into the old world grandeur of The Grounds of Eveleigh. Moving from the soft, open greenery of Lindesay House into this magnificent, converted locomotive workshop created an incredible visual story. The ballroom is an art lover's dream - blending the sleek lines of modern architecture with the lavish, old-Hollywood romance of soaring ceilings, vintage chandeliers, and marble accents.

Inside the ballroom, the atmosphere was atmospheric and electric. The vast scale of the space and the warm sparkle of the chandeliers allowed me to use my favourite hybrid approach: capturing the high-energy, unposed party moments as they naturally happened, framed beautifully against the sharp lines and grand textures of the industrial architecture.

It was a day defined by good design, thoughtful spaces, and above all, two people entirely immersed in their own celebration.
