Mollie and Dane’s wedding at McKell Park was a beautiful reminder that weddings don’t have to be large to feel incredibly meaningful.

When Mollie first got in touch with me, she mentioned that she loved how my photographs could feel intimate even in more urban settings. That was something I really connected with, because I’m always looking for the feeling of a place and the moments that make a wedding personal, rather than simply photographing what is in front of me.

Living away from their families meant that time together was something they valued deeply, so they chose to keep the day small, surrounded only by their immediate families. Their focus was simple: to celebrate their marriage and create memories with the people they don’t get to see often enough.

McKell Park in Darling Point, with its harbour views, gardens and quiet atmosphere, was the perfect setting for such an intimate celebration. After the ceremony, there were relaxed drinks, family photographs and time for Mollie and Dane to simply enjoy being together in the park. These are some of my favourite moments to photograph, when there is no rush, and couples can slow down and take in what is happening around them.

We then wandered through Potts Point for some portraits, a place that held special memories for Mollie and Dane from their earlier days together. Photographing them in streets that were part of their story added another layer of meaning to the images.

This wedding was never about a big production. It was about family, connection and creating a collection of photographs that would allow Mollie and Dane to remember a day spent with the people who matter most.
