Sarah and Joshua’s wedding at the Royal Sydney Golf Club was one of those days where everything felt incredibly considered, but never overly formal.

When Sarah first got in touch with me, she mentioned that they were looking for “natural shots of the day”. That is always something I love to hear, because the moments I’m most drawn to are usually the ones that happen in between the big events.

Sarah got ready with her bridesmaids in one of the suites at the club before making her way down to the sunken garden for the ceremony. After the ceremony, we spent some time exploring the grounds for portraits before the reception began in the Drawing Room. The room was beautifully styled with florals, sculptural beeswax candles and handwritten place cards with a personal message for each guest.

What I remember most about this wedding, though, is Sarah and Joshua. They were wonderful to photograph and trusted me completely throughout the day. The reception was full of conversation, laughter and some very emotional speeches, and I loved being able to quietly observe those moments as they unfolded.
