Vaucluse House Wedding

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Vaucluse House, Jess and Jake’s day was relaxed, warm and centred around what mattered most - celebrating with the people they love.

When Jess first got in touch with me, she told me that what drew her to my work was that it felt relaxed and natural. She and Jake weren't looking for overly staged photographs, they wanted someone they felt comfortable with, and images that reflected the day as it really unfolded. This immediately made me smile because it's exactly how I love to work.

Looking back at their wedding, what I remember most isn't just the beautiful setting, but how easy Jessica and Jake were to photograph. They trusted me completely, never felt the need to force a moment, and simply enjoyed being together. Those are often the photographs that end up meaning the most.

The beautiful gardens of Vaucluse House also deserve a mention. One of the things I love most about photographing weddings here is the afternoon light. I can't quite explain it, but every time I photograph at Vaucluse House I find another beautiful pocket of light somewhere in the gardens or around the old house. It's one of those venues that seems to reveal itself as the afternoon goes on.
