Over the years, I’ve been incredibly lucky to have photographed weddings in some of the most beautiful places - grand gardens and galleries, country estates, intimate restaurants, private properties and everything in between.
Every venue you’ll find here is somewhere I’ve actually photographed a wedding. Some I’ve returned to many times, while others were one-off celebrations that I still remember fondly.
This is a growing collection of the places I’ve worked, across Sydney and beyond.
If you’re getting married at one of these venues and would like to see a full wedding gallery from there, I’m very happy to share one with you.
-

The Art Gallery of NSW
One of my favourite Sydney venues. The Art Gallery is a striking combination of classical interiors, art-filled spaces and beautiful architecture. I also love the Art Gallery Restaurant as a reception space - it’s light filled with contemporary touches.
-

Bendooley Estate - Book Barn & Homestead
A venue I have been photographing since 2017. It’s a romantic and atmospheric Southern Highlands setting with the warmth of the Book Barn, the beautiful historic Homestead, manicured gardens and expansive views across the Southern Highlands countryside.
-

Royal Botanic Garden Sydney
One of my most photographed wedding venues, with an incredible variety of settings from the Palm House, Lion Gate Lodge and Rose Garden & Pavilion to Harbourview Lawn, Bennelong Lawn and The Calyx. Whether it’s a bright sunny day or an overcast day with slight rain, the Botanic Gardens is always magical.

Centennial Vineyards
Another favourite of mine, Centennial Vineyards combines the romance of the Southern Highlands with an award-winning restaurant and a Tuscan courtyard. The light at this venue is absolutely incredible and I have shot some of my favourite portraits here.
-

Royal Sydney Golf Club
I love the understated elegance of Royal Sydney. I’ve been lucky enough to document weddings here for a few years and I love coming back. The Sunken Garden and manicured lawns, the Northern Lawn for cocktails and canapés and an old world charm of the indoor spaces. And when it rains, the beautiful heritage interiors offer their own wonderful opportunities for intimate portraits.

Three Blue Ducks, Rosebery
An all time favourite, I’ve been returning to this venue ever since my first wedding there in 2017. I love the understated, effortless atmosphere - from relaxed courtyard ceremonies to candlelit receptions in the industrial warehouse. The food is a big part of the experience too, served as a shared menu that brings everyone together around the table for a long, beautiful evening.
MORE VENUES TO COME
I’m slowly adding photographs and notes from the many other places I’ve photographed weddings over the years.
If you don’t see your venue here just yet, there’s a good chance I’ve photographed there too, so please feel free to email me and ask - sonja@sonjacphotography.com.au
